Robert “Ed” Hixon, age 78, of Rossville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was born in Ringgold, Georgia to the late James and Essie Hixon. During his childhood he attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he will be laid to rest on Tuesday. Ed enjoyed working outside in the garden, he also enjoyed spending time working on old cars, going to car shows, watching NASCAR and loved Georgia Bulldog football.
Along with his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Audrey Chapman; brothers, Claude, Junior, Leon and Doyle Hixon.
He is survived by his daughter, Shawna (Rodney) Wiggins; brothers, Lamar (Connie) Hixon, Charles (Kathy) Hixon; a host of nieces and nephews; childhood friend, J.D. Head; neighbors, Russell, Sandra and Victor; grand dog, Teddy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
