Roma K. Lewis Harkins

Roma K. Lewis Harkins, age 85 of Rossville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on July 31st, 2025. Roma was born on February 8, 1940, in Hollywood, Alabama to the late Mack Lewis and Ida Coots Lewis. She enjoyed playing basketball at Jackson County High School where she was team captain. After the passing of her husband (Reverend James Richard Harkins), Roma was the CEO of The Richard Harkins Ministries, INC. Rossville, GA location. Previously, as the General Secretary of the organization, she loved working in the General Office, traveling to the many satellite churches in the organization, reading her Bible and helping others in every way possible. She loved people and never met a stranger. Roma was a devoted pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Reverend James Richard Harkins; parents, Mack and Ida Lewis; daughter, Lynnette Stokes; son-in-law, Ricky Crisp and eleven siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Stokes and Annette Crisp; sister, Ozadell Godwin; granddaughter, Tanessa (Matthew) Warner and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank, with sincere gratitude, the Advanced Center for Rehabilitation at Parkside as individuals, Beverly Parrish, Gavin Ryan, Kelley Myers, Adam Fink, Donna Jones, John Sariah, Amber Scott, Tacy Bush, Savannah Whittenburg, Marty Nelson, Alicia Coffet, Cristin Carol, Kristy Lofton, Joey Crumbley, and with love, Doctor Carol Thomason PA.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jerry Corneilson Jr. and Reverend Max Bates Officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Helping Hands Ministry in memory of Roma Harkins.
