Ronald “Ronnie” Lee McWhorter, 82 of Ringgold, GA passed away Monday, May 1st, 2023.
Ronnie was born in Chattanooga, TN and spent most of his childhood in Panama City, FL. He attended Bay County High School, was of the Baptist faith, and loved the Lord dearly. Ronnie worked for many years as a salesman for Southern Wholesalers and worked for himself as a wholesale car dealer. He also built homes from the ground up, including his own home, of which he was very proud. Ronnie loved cars, listening to George Jones, visiting casinos, watching the Braves, Lookouts, and GA Bulldogs. He authored a book about his life and was proud to show off his accomplishment. Ronnie was also the “Chevy Chase” in their family vacations and together with his family had many adventures traveling; they were lucky to make it back from Tijuana. Ronnie had a hilarious sense of humor and around him there was never a dull moment. He is dearly loved by his many friends and family members and will never be forgotten.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Nallye Faye McWhorter; and sister, Bobbie Bell.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Nancy McWhorter; children: Angela (Barry) Williams, Kelly (Shane) Phillips, Scott (Stephanie) McWhorter, and Jeffrey McWhorter; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Sue (Joe) Thomason; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8pm in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
