Ruby J. Wright, age 83, of Oneida, KY, passed away on December 3, 2025. She was a devoted member of Brutus Baptist Church and a proud recipient of the Honorary Kentucky Colonel Award. Ruby had a deep love for gardening, quilting, and spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as her many dear friends. She will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elsie (Davidson) Burns; her husbands, James Wright and Ronald Lemons; her children, Juanita Bays, Leita “Tootsie” Scott, and Ronald Lemons; and her siblings, Naomi Gay, Leita Sizemore, and William Burns.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Jimmy) Rowlls, Rodney (Traci) Lemons, and Jamie (Glen) Johnson; her sisters, Sally (Freddie) Richardson of Louisville, KY, and Margaret Arnett of Oneida, KY; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her beloved fur baby, Snookie.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday, in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. Arrangements are entrusted to W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home.
