Russell Dean Hooton

Russell Dean Hooton, 85, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Lake Hudson, Indiana, Russell lived a life marked by dedication, service, and faith. He proudly served his country as a Navy veteran and later built his own business after retiring from RTC. Beyond his work, he was a devoted family man and a faithful member of the Rossville Church of Christ.

Russell is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Hooton; his brother, Bill Hooton (Shelley); his sister, Kathy Edwards; his children, Sondra Voorhees (Ed), Kenneth Hooton (Renee), Daniel Hooton, Phillip Hooton (Michelle), and Stephen Hooton; his grandchildren, Kristen Akers (Phillip), Ashley Cansler (Chris), Phillip Hooton Jr. (Kayla), Autumn Hooton (Garrett Peters), Trey Hooton (Brianna), Emily Hooton, Jordan Hooton, Joshua Hooton, and Rebekah Hooton; and his great-grandchildren, Landon Cansler, Leah Akers, Jacob Cansler, Layla Moore, Hazel Hinkle, Ryker Hooton, and Hattie Mae Hooton.

He was a constant source of strength, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew him. Russell’s legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
