Sandra Sue Blackwell, 85, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Sandra was born in Malvern, Ohio, to the late Russel Colasant and Wanda Moore. She moved to the Chattanooga-Northwest Georgia area in the 1980s, where she enjoyed living out the remainder of her life. She was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sandra greatly enjoyed the comfort of her home, reading a good book, watching her favorite cooking shows, and homebuilding shows on television. Sandra was a great cook, and she loved her family, especially her loving husband, Bill. Sandra was loved by all who knew her, and she will be truly missed.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Russel Colasant and Wanda Moore; and sons, Troy Nix and Danny Nix.

Those left to cherish her memory include loving husband, William “Bill” Blackwell; son, Ricky (Fonda) Nix of Hixson, Tennessee; four wonderful grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
