Sara Woodward
January 10, 1968 - September 10, 2025
Sara Woodward, 57, of Flintstone, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 10. 2025. Sara was born in Evansville, Indiana, on January 10, 1968. She moved to the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas in 1995 and quickly became an integral part of her community. A devout member of the Baptist faith, Sara was known for her loving and compassionate nature. She had a heart that embraced everyone around her, and many considered her a second mother. Her care and kindness were felt by all who knew her, especially the many children she nurtured beyond her own family.

Sara had a love for life and took great joy in the little things. She was an avid fan of Notre Dame and the Georgia Bulldogs, and her passion for Atlanta Braves Baseball was well-known. A coffee enthusiast, Sara could often be found enjoying a cup while watching her favorite TV show, The Big Bang Theory, or indulging in her love of movies, particularly the John Wick series. Her culinary skills were cherished by her friends and family, especially her homemade sweets, which she always made sure to share.

Though she enjoyed quiet moments at home, Sara also had a deep love for the outdoors. She could often be found mowing her lawn and enjoying the fresh air, always with a lecture or two to share if she felt it was needed.

Sara was preceded in death by her mother, Diana Garrison Mcntire, and her grandmother, Mildred Sanders.

Survivors include her father, Anthony “Tony” McIntire; her loving husband of more than 28 years, Alan Woodward; daughter & son-in-law, Emily & (Elias) Hansen; son & fiancé, Anthony & (Vanessa Johnson) Woodward; sister, Shella Fronzaglio; 3 grandchildren, Freya Hansen, Faith Hansen and Grace Hansen; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched in a profound and meaningful way.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be held in the Union Fork Community Cemetery.
