Sheri Lucinda “Cindy” Russell Rogers, age 72 of Tunnel Hill, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. She was a life resident of the tristate area and of the Church of Christ faith. Cindy graduated from City High School and earned a Certificate from Chattanooga State Community College. She worked with Chattem Chemicals for over forty years before retiring in 2015. Cindys most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Russell and Betty Compton Russell; daughter, Sommer Hennessee and great grandson, Parker Merritt.
She is survived by her loving husband of many years, Dana Colan Rogers, daughter, Sheri (Kevin) Dawson of Ringgold, Georgia; son-in-law, Eddie Hennessee; grandchildren, Preston Merritt (Katelyn Jackson), Kheri Merritt Hennessee, Penelope Hennessee, MiKadyn Hennessee, and Brady Breedlove; great grandchildren, Presley Merritt and River Merritt.
The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice, Parkside Rehabilitation, the nurses at One South Memorial Hospital, Amedisys Home Health, Fresenius Kidney Center of North Georgia and Doctor Mark Heisohn and staff for their compassion and care.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in the Wallis – Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes with Preacher George Cupp officiating. Interment will follow at Gordy Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Diabetes Association (diabeted.org) or Ringgold Church of Christ.
