Shirley Ridley, age 75, resident of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025 at CHI Memorial Hospital, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Mrs. Ridley, daughter of the late William Ulmont Evett and Mary Francis Chadwick Evett, was born August 9, 1949 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and retired from Chattanooga Times Free Press where she faithfully worked for over20 years. Mrs. Ridley was an avid shopper, and enjoyed taking trips to the casinos and the beach. While at home, she watched classic western television shows and listened to country and classic rock music, particularly Elvis. The family remembers her as a loving and intelligent woman.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burton Ridley.
Mrs. Ridley is survived by one sister, Norma (John) Collins; two nephews, Richard (Linda) Collins and Robert (Robin) Collins; five great-nephews, Jonathan Collins, Cameron Collins, Joey (Taylor) Collins, Jake Collins, and Blake Collins; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at White Cemetery, Hwy 136, Villanow, Georgia on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 10 a.m.
