June 9, 1980 - March 27, 2025
Sommer Dawn Hennessee, 44, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. She was born to Dale Edwin Allen and Sheri “Cindy” Rogers in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sommer was a lifelong resident of Lookout Valley and Northwest Georgia area and was of the Church of Christ faith. She enjoyed working as an LPN at The Center for Advanced Rehab at Parkside. Sommer enjoyed photography, nursing and going to the beach. But nothing made her smile more than spending time with her family. To say she loved her family would be a vast understatement. She loved spending time with her children watching them play sports and cheer. Sommer absolutely loved watching MiKadyn dance. Sommer always enjoyed bringing her family and friends together. She was always the loudest one in the crowd and she was the fireworks of the family. Sommer loved the color yellow and everything light, bright and colorful. The bright colors reflected her wonderful personality and huge heart. To all her kid’s friends Sommer was known as “Aunt Sommer.” She loved each one. Sommer was a very loving, sweet, kind-hearted person and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Sommer is preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas E. and Betty R. Russell, and father-in-law, Eddie Dean Hennessee, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Eddie Dean Hennessee, Jr.; parents, Sheri “Cindy” and Dana Rogers; children, Preston (Katelyn Jackson) Merritt of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, Penelope Hennessee, Kheri Hennessee, and MiKadyn Hennessee all of Ringgold, Georgia; sister, Sheri (Kevin) Dawson of Ringgold, Georgia; grandchildren, Presley Merritt and River Merritt; and nephew, Brady Breedlove.
