
Stacy William Snyder, age 88, of LaFayette, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
He was a member of Chattooga Baptist Church. Born June 16, 1936, to the late Ocie and Zula Williams Snyder, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served aboard the submarine USS Sea Owl. Stacy retired from Jordan Trucking as a diesel mechanic.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy “Dot” Snyder; brothers, Mitchell Snyder, Richard Snyder, Mack Snyder, and James Glenn; and sister, Mary Sue Williams.
Stacy is survived by his sister, Dianne (Rod) Dodson; nieces, Beth (Jim) Ramey, Linda (Chuck) Franks, Janet Evans, Ann (Gary) Carroll, Dana (Mike) Wallin, Faye (James) McCann, and Regina Snyder; nephews, Mack (Shelia) Snyder, Jeff Snyder, Steve (Michelle) Snyder, Tim Williams, Richard (Lynn) Snyder, Allen Snyder, Dave (Celestina) Snyder, Greg Snyder, Brian Snyder, and many, many other family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Chattooga Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. William Swanson and Pastor Mike Wallin officiating.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
A heartfelt and special thanks goes to the caring staff of Oakview Health and Rehab for their love and support.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
