August 26, 1956 - September 20, 2025
Stephen Lewis Palmer (Steve, Biggin), 69 of Ringgold GA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his girls Saturday September 20, 2025.
Steve was the son of the late Lloyd Ray Palmer and Hazel Mae Watkins Palmer. He was a lifelong resident of North Ga and of Baptist faith. He worked most of his adult life as a welder and is recently retired from R.W.C. Iron. Steve loved fishing, food, football and his family. He also loved his role as one of “Santa’s helpers” which he did every year of his semi-retired life. He spent most of his free time at home relaxing with wife Lisa and any reason to have his family over so he could prepare family meals big enough to feed the entire hill. As a mentor to so many of his nephews he was always an easy man to lean on and was capable of being the best listener to anyone in need. He will be remembered as being our big teddy bear and the greatest protector. With his steady personality he taught us all about patience and sometimes what not to say. When he did speak up everyone knew to listen.
Preceded in death by his son, Stephen Lewis Palmer Jr. Brothers, Ronald, Jimmy and Terry Palmer.
Survived by his wife of 49 years, Lisa Anderson Palmer of Ringgold, Daughters, Cindy Palmer Wilson (Michael) and Stephanie Palmer (Jessie), Grandsons, Dakota Bumbalough, Braiden Pack (Macy) and Phoenix Bumbalough (Madison), Great granddaughters Charlotte Bumbalough and Hadley Pack. He would also want to acknowledge lifelong best friends, Randy and Kathy Williams and lifelong coworker Roger Crittenden (Ariel). Also survived by countless nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and chosen family.
In Lieu of flowers you can donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in his honor as he was a lifetime donor.
