January 25, 1939 - October 16, 2025
Sue Hise, age 86, resident of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at CHI Memorial Hospital with loved ones present.
Ms. Hise, daughter of the late Troy Burk Shaw and Sarah Blanche Richardson Shaw, was born January 25, 1939 in Trion, Georgia. After graduating from LaFayette High School, she married and was employed by a local insurance company as their secretary. She spent the first half of her life as a loving mother to three children while living the complex life of a military wife. She then pursued a career in nursing and worked at Hutchenson Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. While working at Hutchenson Hospital, she attended Dalton State College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and began a career as a Registered Nurse. Upon its opening she moved to Hutchinson’s new Parkside Nursing Facility where she worked faithfully and cared for her patients until she retired in 2005. Ms. Hise enjoyed traveling to the mountains in Sevierville, Tennessee with her Mom and Dad before they passed. While at home, she would take care of her yard and not only her own pets but many stray cats as well. Ms. Hise also enjoyed reading, watching classic western shows and movies, and listening to Southern Gospel Music. Many would find her drinking coffee and relaxing with her cats. The family remembers her as a compassionate lady who demonstrated loving care to her patients. They recall numerous families requesting her by name to care for their family member while at Parkside. The importance of family to Ms. Hise was illustrated in conversations with her children and loving sister on a daily basis. She will always be remembered by friends, neighbors, and family as a lady who loved God, her cats and especially her pickles.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David Victor Hise and Charles Andrew Hise.
Ms. Hise is survived by one daughter, Robin Richardson; one sister, Wanda Jo Brock; one granddaughter, Nikki (Shawn) Konwick; two great-grandchildren, Mason Alexander Konwick and Barbara Sheridan Konwick; one niece, Cindy (Randy) Bryant; many other relatives and friends.
