Sylvia Earlene Harris, 76, of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. She was born to the late Earl and Dorothy Stanfield in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sylvia was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia area, was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. In ninth grade, Sylvia met Homer, the love of her life, and their love story began. After dating through high school, they got engaged on graduation day and lived a beautiful life together. Sylvia was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She and Homer loved traveling and spending time together. She also enjoyed going to lunch and spending time with her friends. Sylvia was a very loving, sweet, kind-hearted person and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her grandson, Colby Harris, and her parents, Earl and Dorothy Stanfield.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Homer Harris; children, Angela Templeton of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Jerry (Lori) Harris of East Ridge, Tennessee; sister, Vickie (Raymond) Royal; brother, George (Ruby) Henry; grandchildren, Chloe Templeton, Elizabeth Hughes, Darla Harris, Gabby Harris, Robert Harris, Alaina Templeton, and Jon Parton; great-grandchildren, Paisley Parton, Riley Hughes, Kinsley Hughes, and Lucas Hawkins.

The family has arranged for a time to remember and honor Sylvia. Friends and family are invited to join us on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The funeral service, a time to celebrate Sylvia’s life, will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. Following the service, we will proceed to the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the burial. The family appreciates your prayers and support during this difficult time.
