Tommy Derwin Younce Sr.Chickamauga

Tommy Derwin Younce Sr., age 58 of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away while surrounded by his family at his sister’s home on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga, Georgia and of the Baptist faith. Tommy grew up attending Liberty Baptist Church and Osburn Elementary School before later studying at Rossville Junior High and Rossville High School. He had a natural gifted ability with his hands as he was a carpenter for most of his life. Whether it be artistic drawing, working on a car, or carpentry work, Tommy was sure to do anything to the best of his ability. Most of the time, while working with his hands, he was helping someone else. Tommy was good-hearted and often put others before himself. He will be greatly missed by all his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Billy Younce and Christine McNish Gattis; nephew, Cody Ransom, as well as his grandparents.
Tommy is survived by his children, Tonya Younce and Tommy (Alex) Younce Jr.; siblings, Timothy “Tim” (Darlene) Younce, Steven (Dawn) Younce, Tina (Dennis) Ransom, Wendy Jackson; several grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Danielle Clark, Holly Durham and Chaplin Ricky Studdard all of Tapestry Hospice for their compassionate care.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
