Vickie “MaMaw” Waters
September 16, 1944 - May 16, 2025

Vickie “MaMaw” Waters, age 80, resident of Ringgold, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 16, 2025.
Mrs. Waters, daughter of the late Clarence McSpadden and Dorothy Rhinehart McSpadden, was born September 16, 1944 in Brownwood, Texas. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and also nursery worker. Mrs. Waters also was known as the “cookie monster” at First Baptist Church Kindergarten. After high school, Mrs. Waters began working at Sweetwater Carpet, later on Salem Carpet, and then Shaw Carpet. She then began working at Racemark Industries until her retirement. Mrs. Waters enjoyed gardening and watching her husband and grandkids play sports. While at home, many would see her sew, cook for family and friends, work jigsaw and crossword puzzles, watch Atlanta Braves baseball, and listen to country and gospel music. The family remembers her as a Christian lady, known as a sweet and kind woman – who never met a stranger.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William McDaniel and Jerry McSpadden.
Mrs. Waters is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Clinton Waters; two daughters, Terri Stephens and Tina (Willie) Brogdon; one sister, Shirley Moses; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Matt) Nolan, Willie (Jessica) Brogdon II, and Kayla (Sean) Self; five great-grandchildren, Liam Griffin, Maddie Nolan, Willie Brogdon III, Emma Brogdon, and Artie Self; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, 2 p.m. with Reverend Heath Morton officiating.
