Wallace “Wally” Vandiver
October 16, 1947 - July 9, 2025

Wallace “Wally” Vandiver, Jr. age 77, resident of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Vandiver, son of the late Wallace Andrew Vandiver, Sr. and Beulah Mae Logan Vandiver, was born on October 16, 1947 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country honorably in Vietnam. While in the military, he played softball and later played for local teams in both Ringgold and Chattanooga. After leaving the military, he became a Police Officer for Catoosa County Police Department. Mr. Vandiver devoted many hours to helping kids grow and coaching Little League baseball. He attended Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle and was a member of the NRA; Modern Woodsman of America; and VFW, Post 3679, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He also enjoyed collecting sports cards; fishing; and traveling. While at home, many would see him doing word search puzzles; watching Atlanta Braves baseball or classic western movies. The family remembers him as a dedicated veteran, one who loved his country immensely.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ada Fletcher and Audrene Farrow.
Mr. Vandiver is survived by his wife, Vicki Vandiver; one daughter, Kathy Vandiver Blakney; one son, Jeff (Jennifer) Vandiver; two step-children, Brett (Kim) Guinn and Jennifer Stinnett; three grandchildren, Jaden Vandiver, Jonas Vandiver, and Cody Headrick; five step-grandchildren, Brock, Tyler, Lyndsey, Olivia, and Ashlyn; two step great-grandchildren, Oaklynn and Wrenley; best friend, Scott Vandergriff; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, 443 Boynton Road, Ringgold, Georgia on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
