February 27, 1937 ~ July 5, 2023
Wanda Howcroft, 86 of LaFayette, GA went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with her husband on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023.
Wanda was born February 27, 1937 in Ft. Payne, AL to the late Andrew and Nobie Overby. She lived in LaFayette for over 30 years with her family. Wanda was a loving mother, very caring and devoted wife with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening, cooking family meals, enjoying holidays with her family, and she cherished her time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Ed Howcroft; siblings, Frances Knauff, A.J. Overby, and Mary Belcher; son-in-laws, Warren Walker and Ronald Berneburg.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Howcroft Walker, Rose Berneburg, Lola (Sean) Crute, and Donna Brock; sister, Gladys (Reese) Skyles; sister-in-law, Sheryl Overby; grandchildren: Edward, Amanda, Angel, Anthony, Briana, Nicholas, and Samantha; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9th, 2023 from 2-7pm in the South Crest Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10th, 2023 at 11:30am in the South Crest Chapel with Paul Skyles officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
