Wanda Lynn, age 78, resident of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at her residence.
Mrs. Lynn, daughter of the late Grady Miller and Virginia Blanche Miller, was born July 29, 1946 in Chickamauga, Georgia. She was a member of Revival Baptist Church of Chickamauga and was active in the Senior Center of Chickamauga. Mrs. Lynn owned and operated Wanda’s Restaurant for over 15 years. She had a strong passion for singing gospel music at various nursing homes, and traveling to the mountains and the beach. While at home, she enjoyed gardening and cooking for family and friends. Most of all, she looked forward to spending quality time with her grandkids. The family remembers her as a good Christian lady who always was wanting to help someone.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Walter Lynn; daughter, Paula Steele; and four sisters, Peggy McClure, Frances Lowe, Imogene Rogers, and Sandra Cross.
Mrs. Lynn is survived by two sons, Carliss Shirley and Randy Steele; two grandsons, Randy Paul Steele, Jr. and Jaime Lee Steele; two great-grandchildren, Korbin Steele and Danielle Steel; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Tim Turnipseed and Reverend David Hoskins officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South, Rossville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. and also on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m.
