Wanda Sue Freeman, 82 of Ringgold, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
She was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong resident of the North Georgia and Chattanooga area. Anyone who knew her, would agree that she had a sweet spirit and a servants heart. She worked at Country Place and Wally’s Restaurant for over 20 years. Her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert “Shorty” Freeman; mother Susie Hughes Cooper, and brother, Jerry Vineyard. Survivors include her children, Pam (Gary) Lane of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Paula (Danny) Forgey of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jason Freeman of Ringgold, Georgia; sister, Mildred DiGiovanni of California; grandchildren, Terry, Mandy, Paige, Tiffany, Jordan, Bryanna, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jackie, Carmen and all the staff of The Health Center at Standifer Place as well as Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving and companionate care. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
