William “Bill” Lawreance StraitRossville

William “Bill” Lawrence Strait, age 77, of Rossville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. He was born in Houlka, Mississippi, raised in Nashville, Tennessee and has resided in the Chattanooga area for the last thirty-six years. Bill was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling and crime shows, with Law & Order being his favorite. While watching tv, his dogs, Millie and Bella were often found near him. He had a passion for sports cars, Trans Am and Corvettes specifically. Bill spent many hours working on and detailing his cars. In his free time, Bill enjoyed spending time at the beach and loved seafood. He was a meticulous and gifted house painter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Eugene Strait and W. Blanche Winter Strait Melton; siblings, Mary Joseph, Ann Wilson, Linda Lindsay, and Barbara Miles; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany (Daniel) Groves; grandchildren, Brogan and Stella Groves; brother-in-law, Jim Miles, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bill Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
