William “Bill” Lee Phillips, age 77, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Bill was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late William Glenn Phillips and Flora Bell Parrish Phillips. He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga and a faithful member of Old Cumberland The Baptist Church.
He was a proud graduate of Gordon Lee Memorial High School, Class of 1967. Bill enjoyed watching his beloved Georgia Bulldogs and spending time fishing with his family. An avid gun enthusiast, he especially cherished moments spent with those he loved most.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose kind spirit and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Timothy Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Irene Daggett Phillips; his children, Ronnie (Jackie) Phillips, Glen (Shannon) Phillips, Michele Lee, and Shannon Pledger; grandchildren, Danielle (Josh) Huff, Tyler (Haley) Phillips, Kerin (Christopher) Williamson, Dylan (Ciera) Pearson, Sarah (Zach) Green, Jordan Lee, Noah Phillips, Celine Pledger, Courtney (Leonard) Powers, Brittany Pledger, and Stone Phillips; great-grandchildren, William, Grayson, Callie-Grace, Wyatt, Ivy, Addison, and Miles; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Chris O’Neal and Pastor Jeremy Hanrahan officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and prior to the service on Thursday.
