William “Billy” EvansRossville

William “Billy” Evans, age 85, resident of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Evans, son of the late Charlie Evans and Essie Lee Evans, was born February 25, 1940 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He worked in the textile industry for over 25 years and retired from Boards Textile where he was a Cardinal Operator. Mr. Evans enjoyed Bingo, casinos, and deep- sea fishing. He also enjoyed random traveling, especially taking trips to the grocery store. While at home, many would see him watching Atlanta Braves baseball, wrestling, classic western movies, and cooking. But most of all, he looked forward to spending quality time with his family. The family remembers him as a loving family man.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Evans and three sisters, Mable Lindsey, Betty Lindsey, and Opal Taylor.
Mr. Evans (sometimes also called Beretta) is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Pat Evans; three daughters, Penny (Donnie) Cronnon, Vicky Evans, and Jacky “Girl” (Jackie) Evans; two sons, William Evans and David (Kristy) Evans; three sisters, Nobe Ann Loveless, Brenda Lee (Larry) Hill, and Sherry Pritchett (Terry) Kilgore; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Monday, April 28, 2025, 12 noon with Reverend Lamar Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South, 325 Greens Lake Road, Rossville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on both Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. and Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 2-8 p.m.
