William Eugene MasonRossville

William Eugene Mason, age 74, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2025. He was born in Scottsboro, Alabama, to the late Rayford Mason and Myrtle Hall Mason. William moved to the Rossville area in 1994 and was of the Christian faith.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, William worked for many years at Shaw Industries, retiring in 2005. He was an exceptionally skilled paint and body technician and loved working with his hands, often keeping busy with projects around the house. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
William was preceded in death by his siblings, Delilah Murphy, Debra Clarke, Floyd Mason, Donald Mason, and George Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 26 years, Shelia Mason; children, Michael (Hillary) Mason, Christopher Mason, and Brandon (Kendra) Mason; step-children, Charles Baxter and Ahmad Dixson; brothers, Cecil (Connie) Mason and Jerry (Vanessa) Mason; grandchildren, Skylar, Samantha, Damien, Terry, and Ryder; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
