William Oliver Jones
June 26, 1985 - March 14, 2025

William Oliver Jones, 39, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Chickamauga March 14, 2025.
Better known as Will, Wilbur, Willy, Uncle Woody or even Will on the Hill, he was a big guy with an even bigger heart. His sudden departure leaves a void in the lives of everyone who knew him.
Born June 26, 1985, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Will grew up on Signal Mountain. He graduated with a bachelor’s in business (Logistics) from University of Tennessee Chattanooga in 2010.
A life of adventure took Will across the U.S. living in places like Johnson City, Tennessee; Denver, Colorado; Beaumont, Texas; and Miami, Florida. But a few years ago returned to the Chattanooga/North Georgia area, where he was at home.
With his natural knack for connecting with people, Will built several successful logistics businesses over the years. Most recently he was working with Online Freight Services transporting goods from lobsters to generators.
Will stood out in a crowd - in more ways than one. His vibrant, larger-than-life personality ensured he left a lasting impression on everyone he crossed paths with. His friends weren’t just people he knew; they quickly became part of his chosen family. A true reflection of his boundless love and devotion to all living things were his loyal four-legged companions, Sampson and Delilah.
Known for his contagious wit and an avid lover of music, Will's life was always filled with both, and a good time was never in short supply when he was around. His passion for music was legendary, with tastes from Wide Spread Panic (having seen well over 100 times) to Waylon Jennings. Will had a way of making everyone laugh, effortlessly blending self-deprecating humor with a style all his own. Channeling the comedic energy of legends like Chris Farley and Rodney Dangerfield, he’d throw himself into the punchlines with reckless abandon.
Survived by his Grandmother, Virginia Wickizer (99); Mother, Jamey Jones; Sister, Erin Wainwright (Keith); Brother, Justin Jones (Heather); and his nieces and nephews who he adored more than anyone in world - Ellis, Jemma, 'Little' Will, Parker, Mallory, and Kate
He may have left us too soon, but he certainly lived life fully, loved deeply, and made the world a brighter place. Will is now reunited with his father, J.O., and together they are singing with the angels in Heaven.
Rest easy, Will - Your heart, humor, and spirit will long live forever through all those you loved.
