William “Sonny” DurhamChattanooga, TN

William “Sonny” Durham, age 84, resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Durham, son of the late Guy William Durham and Mattie Belle Collins Durham, was born April 11, 1941 in Rossville, Georgia. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan as well as Atlanta Braves fan. While at home, Mr. Durham enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching classic western shows, and listening to oldies music (particularly Elvis). He also looked forward to spending time with his cat “Miss Kay” and grand dogs. The family remembers him as a devoted husband and father.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Geraldine Baty Durham; and sons, William Richard “Ricky” Durham and Michael Glynn Durham.
Mr. Durham is survived by one daughter, Carla (Mike) Eischeid; two sisters, Lois Large and Wanda Hanks; one brother, Nathan (Darlene Fairchild) Durham; one granddaughter, Lindsey (Nathan) Smith; two great-grandchildren, Drew and Colin; many other relatives and friends.
Private services will be held at a later date.
