Wilma Ann Gordy Holmes, 68 of Ringgold passed away on September 8, 2023 in the comfort of her home. She was born and raised in Ringgold and has lived here all her life. Wilma loved the great outdoors, and enjoyed bird watching, fishing, and vacationing to the mountains. But most of all she loved her family; especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph & Dorothy Gordy; brother Ronnie Gordy.
Wilma is survived by her loving husband John Houston Holmes; daughters Angela (Elvis) Locke, Wendy (Gary) Leech; step children Angie Hawley, Kenny Holmes, Jay (Teaquila) Holmes; siblings Daryl (Carolyn) Gordy, Brenda Taylor; grandchildren Justin Locke, Madison Locke, Savannah Outlaw, Zoey Bates, Daniel Hawley, Riley Hawley; and one great grandchild Theo Locke. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday September 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ringgold Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Bennett officiating. A burial will follow at Gordy Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 10, 2023, and before the service on Monday in the parlor of the funeral home.
