Yevonne Marie Hamby Fortson age 59, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away Monday, January 12, 2026. She was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and resided most of her life in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Yevonne formerly worked in the office for Lake Lanier Park in concierge services and most recently in the office at Echelon Fitness in Chattanooga, TN. She was of the Catholic Faith. For the past three years she has enjoyed residing in Chickamauga, where she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making crafts and reading science fiction books. She is preceded in death by her father: Robert Earl Hamby, Jr., and husband: Terry Fortson. She is survived by her mother: Bonnie Louise Gallagher Hamby of Chickamauga, GA, and her brothers: Steve (Sandra) Hamby of Chickamauga, GA, Daniel Hamby of Rossville, GA, Neil Hamby of Sulfur, LA, and Keith Hamby of Rossville, GA.
