The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies have identified and arrested a man caught on camera pointing a gun at another person in a Ringgold gas station parking lot.
Deputies arrested Gerald Raymond Martinez, 59, on Thursday, Oct. 23, in connection with the incident. According to court documents obtained by WRCB-TV, a magistrate judge set Martinez’s bond at $5,000, and he has since been released after posting bond.
The arrest follows an investigation launched after surveillance footage from last week showed a middle-aged man entering a gas station off Alabama Highway, making a purchase, and then returning to his car. As he was getting back inside, video reportedly captured the man pointing a firearm at someone else in the parking lot.
Authorities have not released details about what led up to the confrontation, and no injuries were reported.
The case remains under investigation by the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office.
