July 28, 1945 - March 23, 2026
Ollie “Peggy” Plummer, age 80, resident of Flintstone, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at her residence.
Mrs. Plummer, daughter of the late Ralph Leonard Parham and Delia Viola Tate Parham, was born July 28, 1945 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a longtime member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church in Flintstone and had previously been a member of Fort Oglethorpe Fire Auxiliary, Station #2; Chattanooga Valley Lions Club; and spearheaded a ladies group for Tennessee Army National Guard (Charlie Battery) during Desert Storm.
Mrs. Plummer worked in the Walker County School System as a bus driver for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and in her younger years would meet her now husband at the roller-skating rink many times on dates. Mrs. Plummer went on many trips with her husband through the years. She always looked forward to supporting her grandchildren and attending any events they would be involved with. While at home, many would see her doing jigsaw puzzles, listening to classic and big band music, watching Green Bay Packer football, or intensely watching classic shows such as Doris Day or Lawrence Welk. Most of all, she would spend quality time with her family and have family gatherings at her home.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William David Plummer and a sister, Beverly Sue Forrester.
Mrs. Plummer is survived by her husband of over 62 years, David Plummer; four daughters, Janet Simmons Manley, Annie (David) Stallings, Tonya (Jeff) Little, and Jenn (Michael) Hangstefer; three brothers, Jimmy Parham, Ralph (Nancy) Parham, and Eddie (Cecilia) Parham; seven grandchildren, Janie Lamontagne, Scarlett Stallings, Emilee Gazaway, Allie Little, Brady Little, Israel Hangstefer, and Liora Hangstefer; many other relatives and friends.
