Rickey Darrell Gibson, 70, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home.
Rickey was a native of Dayton, Tennessee, and had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life. He was a 1974 graduate of Rossville High School. Rickey worked for several years with Alstom and later retired in 2021 from Roadtech, where he was a machinist. In his retirement, he continued working part-time at Lowe’s in Fort Oglethorpe.
Rickey was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a man who truly loved his family with his whole heart, especially his grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. He had a deep appreciation for life and carried a positive spirit everywhere he went, never one to complain and always finding the good in every situation. Rickey loved getting away to the beaches of Florida, where he could relax and enjoy the simple things. He was an avid golfer, and some of his happiest times were spent on the course or traveling on golf trips with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Jeanette Gibson.
Rickey is survived by his two sons, Daniel (Grace) Gibson and Adam (Melissa) Gibson; one brother, Ken (Karen) Gibson; one sister, Sherry Evans; six grandchildren, Ava and Halle Gibson, Natalia, Annaelise, Giselle, and Enoch Gibson; his longtime companion, Vickie Wolfe; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and golfing buddies.
