Mrs. Esther Marie Grubbs

Esther Marie “Boots” Gardenhire Grubbs age 93, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Tuesday – March 31, 2026. She was born in Chattanooga, TN, and was a lifelong resident of the area. Esther was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and cherished friend to many. Her kind spirit and presence will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents: Alexander and Selena Gardenhire, husband: Robert Grubbs, brothers: Michael Gardenhire and Ralph “Buddy” Gardenhire. Boots is survived by her daughters: Linda (Steve) Rogers, Donna Reno, Mary (Renard) Willingham, Joy Tinker, sister: Diane Tyson, caregiver and dear friend: Elizabeth Sheffield, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm – Monday – April 6, 2026 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens – Hixon, Tennessee. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes – Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
