Kathleen Forrester

Mary Kathleen Forrester, 96, of Flintstone passed away Monday, April 6th, 2026. Kathleen was born March 24th, 1930, in Ringgold, GA to the late Erskine and Mary Goodlet Huggins. Kathleen was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and member of Flintstone United Methodist for over 65 years. She was the proud owner and operator of Flintstone Daycare and Mary & Martha’s Assisted Living. Kathleen had a passion for serving others of all ages by working as a cook for both centers and taking care of them any way she could.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Garnett Forrester; brother, James Huggins; sister, Gladys Clark.

Survivors include her sons, Mike (Sue) Forrester, Gary (Carmen) Forrester, and David (Cathy) Forrester; grandchildren, Jennifer Pascual, Sara Dickson, Stephanie Middlebrooks, Jared Forrester, Josh Forrester, Julie Lifferth, Jamie Trone, Carrie Durante, Katie Busby, and Jessica Gross; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM Friday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Justin Keating officiating. A graveside dedication will be conducted by Mike Forrester.

The family would like to give special thanks to Rosewood Assisted Living and Hearth Hospice for their loving care.
