September 11, 1957 - April 10, 2026
Patricia Louella Shadwick, age 68, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2026. Lou was born in Ringgold, Georgia to the late Charles Self and Betty Jo Watkins Self in 1957. For most of her life, she resided in Kennesaw, Georgia before moving to Stone Mountain, Georgia. For the last seven years, Lou has resided in Ringgold and was a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church.
Lou had an adventurous spirit. For over thirty years Lou worked with American Express Travel as a travel agent. A job that took her all over the world, often traveling alone. She never admitted to having a favorite destination but always loved anywhere with a beach. After returning home from traveling, she loved to cook the different cultural foods that she experienced around the world. In her free time, Lou enjoyed going out to eat, coloring and shopping.
She was a hard-working woman and had a positive impact on her family. Lou was a mother figure to her nieces and nephew, teaching them the important things in life, a sense of accomplishment, integrity, and a hard work ethic. She expressed a servant’s heart, loved animals and read her Bible every day.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Marcia Aline Abercrombie and her brother, Bradley Eugene Self.
She is survived by her brother, Stanley Self; sister, Reba Self; nieces, Barbie Bass and Becky Berry; nephew, Jody Self; as well as special cousins, Joel Self and Vickie Sharp.
