Wanda Lolita Grant

Wanda Lolita Grant Murphey, 90, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 10, 2026. She was born on May 30, 1935, in Hawthorne, Florida, to the late Arthur “Spud” Murphey and Mildred Murphey.

Wanda was a graduate of Lakeland Senior High School in Lakeland, Florida. She was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. A faithful member of First Baptist Church Lakeview, Wanda lived a life centered on love, faith, and service to others.

She was a master seamstress and an excellent cook who especially enjoyed baking. Wanda also had a gift for interior design and found pleasure in reading, working crossword puzzles, taking long drives, and dining out. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Grant; her brother, Dion Murphey; and her granddaughter, Wesley Ayn Blanton Armstrong, granddaughter, Dionne Franklin Stevens, great-great grandson, Jordan Kennedy Kemble, great-great grandson, Ian Riley.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Debra (Joseph) Richardson, Kathy (Randy) Hall, and Toni (Brian) Craig; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church Lakeview, 10 Hudson Street, Rossville, Georgia 30741. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the hour of service.
