William Bradford “Brad” Prater, 58, of Rossville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. He was born in Chattanooga on June 20, 1967, to the late Fred R. Prater and Martha Ann Strongman Prater.
Brad grew up in Rossville and attended North Rossville Elementary School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Notre Dame High School. Though life took him to other places, he always remained a true Rossville Bulldog at heart. While living in North Carolina, he worked in and was actively involved with NASCAR racing.
Brad had a passion for racing, especially cars and motorcycles, as well as golf and fishing. He was also a devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan. If you knew Brad, you knew he never met a stranger and truly cherished spending time with his many friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Kim (Steve) Johnson; his uncles, Bill Prater and Harry Strongman; his cousins, Rusty Prater, Amy (John) Eldridge, David Strongman, Robin Burns, and Catlyn Cyree; along with many dear friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Tapestry Hospice for their compassionate care.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20th from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at 3:00 PM with Rev .Dr. Jacqueline Davis-Gines and David Harr officiating. Entombment will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Clark, Dale McDowell, Shane McDowell, Jason Stoner, Bobby Thornton and Randy Whitten
