Walker County Board of Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Concord Road Abandonment

The Walker County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing next month to consider a request to abandon a portion of Concord Road in LaFayette.

According to a public notice, the section of roadway under consideration is located between Albert Thomas Drive and Trans America Trail.

The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. and will take place at the Walker County Courthouse Annex IV building, located at 201 S. Duke Street in LaFayette.

County officials are expected to hear public comments and review the request before taking any action regarding the proposed road abandonment.

Residents and property owners who may be affected by the proposal are encouraged to attend the hearing.
