Residents of Walker County will have another opportunity this week to help shape the future of their community as county leaders continue work on updating the Walker County Comprehensive Plan.
The second stakeholder meeting for the comprehensive plan update is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Walker County Civic Center, located at 10052 North Highway 27 in Rock Spring.
County officials are encouraging residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to attend and provide input on the county’s future growth, development, infrastructure, housing, transportation, and quality of life priorities. The meeting is open to the public, and all residents are welcome to participate.
The comprehensive plan serves as a long-term guide for future decision-making in Walker County and helps establish goals and strategies for the community over the coming years.
Officials say public participation is an important part of the planning process, giving residents the opportunity to share ideas and voice concerns about issues impacting their communities.
A third stakeholder meeting is also planned for June 25 at the Walker County Civic Center. Additional details about that meeting are expected to be released closer to the event date.
