A friendly competition between local law enforcement agencies will help save lives later this month as the American Red Cross hosts the “Battle of the Badges” Blood Drive on Thursday, June 25.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature the Walker County Sheriff’s Office competing against the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office to see which department can encourage the most blood donations from the community.
Organizers say the blood drive is an opportunity for residents to support local first responders while also helping patients in need of lifesaving blood transfusions. Donors will be able to cast their support for either Walker County or Catoosa County during the event.
Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled online through the American Red Cross website. Separate QR codes and registration links are available for both counties.
In addition to helping maintain the blood supply during the busy summer season, donors who participate in June will receive a $15 e-gift card from the American Red Cross while supplies last.
Officials encourage eligible donors from across northwest Georgia to participate and help make a difference in their communities.
