LaFayette’s newest recreational destination is now open. Traverse Park officially opened to the public Saturday.
Located on Villanow Street, the park welcomed its first visitors, ahead of its formal ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Traverse Park features a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities designed to appeal to users of all ages and skill levels. Among its signature attractions are climbing and bouldering walls.
The park also includes a skate park, providing a dedicated space for skateboarders and other wheeled sports enthusiasts.
In addition to its climbing and skating amenities, Traverse Park connects to nearby walking trails and offers a disc golf course, expanding outdoor recreation options for both residents and visitors.
City leaders have promoted the project as a way to encourage active lifestyles while highlighting the area’s outdoor recreation assets. The park’s opening during the Honeybee Festival allowed festivalgoers an opportunity to explore the facility before its official dedication.
