The Walker County Board of Education has announced several upcoming meetings in June, including budget work sessions, public hearings, and its monthly planning and regular board meetings.
The first meeting will be a FY2027 Budget Work Session on Tuesday, June 2, at 5 p.m. at the Advancing Education Center, located at 925 Osburn Road in Chickamauga. Board members will discuss the proposed fiscal year 2027 budget during the session.
The Board will then hold a FY2027 Budget Hearing on Tuesday, June 9, at 5 p.m., also at the Advancing Education Center. The hearing will provide an opportunity for public review and input on the proposed budget before its adoption.
Following the budget hearing, the Board’s monthly Planning Session will begin at 6 p.m. on June 9 at the same location.
A second FY2027 Budget Hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 15, at 5 p.m. at the Walker County Department of Education Building, located at 301 North Cherokee Street in LaFayette.
The Board’s Regular Session will immediately follow at 6 p.m. on June 15 at the Department of Education Building.
School officials encourage residents interested in the district’s budget and operations to attend the meetings. The FY2027 budget discussions will focus on financial planning and priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
