The City of Summerville is accepting applications for a Customer Service Representative position.

This position performs a variety of customer service and administrative duties in support of city operations. Responsibilities include assisting customers, answering phones, processing utility payments, setting up new customer accounts, preparing work orders, balancing cash drawers, preparing bank deposits, issuing permits and business licenses, processing returned checks, handling utility disconnects, and maintaining department records.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One to two years of related experience preferred
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain records

Duties Include:
• Greeting customers and answering telephones
• Assisting with billing and account information
• Processing utility payments and bank deposits
• Issuing building permits, gas inspection permits, and business licenses
• Receiving payments for Recreation, Police, and Main Street departments
• Maintaining files and records
• Preparing work orders and handling customer service requests
