Walker County Fire Rescue Names Jason Cruise as Fire Marshal

Walker County Fire Rescue has announced the appointment of Jason Cruise as the department’s new Fire Marshal, bringing more than two decades of experience in the fire service to the position.

Cruise has served in various leadership roles throughout his career and has developed extensive expertise in fire prevention, fire investigation, code enforcement, emergency response, and fire suppression. His appointment places a seasoned professional at the forefront of the county’s fire prevention and investigation efforts.

A veteran of more than 20 years in the fire service, Cruise holds a bachelor’s degree and has earned the Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI) designation, a nationally recognized credential that demonstrates advanced knowledge in determining fire origin and cause.

In addition to his investigative qualifications, Cruise has completed numerous specialized certifications related to fire suppression operations, fire codes, emergency management, and public safety.

Walker County Fire Rescue officials said Cruise is widely respected for his professionalism, leadership, and commitment to serving the public. In his new role as Fire Marshal, he will oversee fire prevention initiatives, code compliance efforts, public education programs, and fire investigations throughout Walker County.

Cruise said he looks forward to serving the residents of Walker County and continuing the department’s mission of protecting lives and property through prevention, education, and enforcement.

His appointment marks a significant addition to Walker County Fire Rescue’s leadership team as the department continues its efforts to enhance fire safety and community protection across the county.
