George Roger Wagner of Flintstone, GA entered the presence of the Lord Tuesday evening, June 2, 2026 at his home. Originally from Tryon, Polk County, NC, George had made Flintstone his home since January 1997.
He entered the Army at age 17 and served from 1965 to 1973 in Vietnam.
George was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades for many years working in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas. After moving to Flintstone in 1997 he established Wagner Painting and Pressure Washing. Later he worked in Nuclear Power Plants throughout the United States prior to retirement in 2009.
George was an avid hunter and member of several hunting clubs in south Georgia. In 2001 he co-founded Classic Bucks and Does, a family oriented Quality Deer Management Club, in Stewart County, GA. He enjoyed seeing families spend time together building lasting bonds while promoting hunting.
George is survived by his wife Pam who dedicated the last several years to his constant care; son Sergeant First Class Kenneth E. Wagner (Cheryle) and grandchildren Joshua and Hannah of Rineyville, KY. And, sister Grace Wagner Durham (Robert) of Columbus, NC.
He was preceded in death by parents Edward G. and Maude Waycaster Wagner; sisters Hazel Wagner Fowler and Marian "Mickey" Wagner Durham; brothers Max Wagner, Gerald Wagner and Doug Wagner. Special friends Thomas "Tom" Babb and Ron Fox predeceased George. In February 2024 Warrior "Taz" Wagner vom Sequoyahaus, George's constant companion and service dog, concluded his mission.

Special thanks are extended to the Tennessee Valley Veteran's Health Care system in Murfreesboro and Nashville, Chattanooga Veteran's Administration Clinic and particularly the HomeBase Primary Care Team of Leah, Darlene, Holly, Kelly, Matt, and Marcy for the extrodinary care provided to George. In home care givers from All Pro Health and Right at Home have been an essential part of caring for George and our gratitude is immeasurable.
As requested, there will be no funeral service.
