The Walker County Board of Education will meet Monday, June 15, for a budget hearing and regular monthly session at the Walker County Department of Education building, located at 301 North Cherokee Street in LaFayette.
The evening will begin with a public budget hearing at 5 p.m., where board members will consider the tentative Fiscal Year 2027 budget. The hearing will provide an opportunity for public review and discussion of the proposed spending plan before final adoption.
Following the hearing, the board’s regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Board members are scheduled to review the district’s financial report and consider several agreements related to student services, including mental health support, special education programs and instructional services.
Additional agenda items include approval of school nutrition contracts and bids, along with reports from the superintendent and facilities department regarding ongoing operations and projects throughout the school system.
The board is also expected to consider personnel recommendations following an executive session.
The Walker County Board of Education generally meets on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.
