Walker County residents will have one more opportunity to help shape the community’s future during the third and final stakeholder meeting for the Walker County Comprehensive Plan Update.
The meeting will be held Thursday, June 25, at the Walker County Civic Center, located at 10052 North Highway 27 in Rock Spring. The event will be conducted as a drop-in open house from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., allowing residents to attend at their convenience and stay as long as they wish.
County officials and planning representatives will present the results of the recently completed community survey, along with preliminary findings gathered during the first two stakeholder meetings. Participants will have the opportunity to review the information and provide additional feedback on a variety of topics that will help guide Walker County’s future growth and development.
Areas of discussion include economic development, housing, transportation, cultural and natural resources, community facilities and services, land use, and intergovernmental coordination.
The comprehensive planning process is designed to gather input from residents, business owners, community leaders, and other stakeholders to help establish priorities and goals for the county in the years ahead.
Officials encourage residents from across Walker County to attend and share their thoughts before the plan moves into its next phase of development.
The open-house format is intended to make participation easy and accessible, giving community members the chance to review information, ask questions, and contribute comments that could influence future decisions affecting the county.
The Walker County Civic Center is located at 10052 North Highway 27 in Rock Spring.
