Dean Berry

Dean Berry, age 55, resident of Harrison, Tennessee, passed away on June 11, 2026 at Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Mr. Berry, son of the Geraldine Frances Hindrichs Berry and the late Dennis Lee Berry, was born May 24, 1971 in Belleville, Illinois. He was Lutheran by faith and graduated from Chester High School, Chester, Illinois in 1989.
After graduation, he then attended and graduated from Southwest Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois where he received an Associate’s Degree and Paramedic Certification. After college, he began a career as a Paramedic, working for Cape County Ambulance Service in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; MedStar Ambulance Service in Chester, Illinois; Jackson County Ambulance Service in Carbondale, Illinois; AMR in Lake Havasu City, Arizona; MEDUCARE in Charleston, South Carolina; AMR in Tucson, Arizona; and Hamilton County and AMR Ambulance Services in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Dean was an avid golfer and was a caddie at The Ocean Course in Kiawah, South Carolina. He was known as an Alabama Crimson Tide fan and Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR (particularly Bill and Chase Elliott); and horseback riding. While at home, many would find him grilling for family and friends and listening to classic rock music. The family remembers him as a great paramedic, husband, and father.
Dean is survived by his wife, Melissa Berry; daughter, Megan Berry; mother, Geraldine Berry; two sisters, Dawn (Tim) Marcinkowski and Angela (Terry) Langston; numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Harrison Community Center, 5637 TN-58, Harrison, Tennessee on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. till 5 p.m.
