Walker County Sets Public Hearings for Proposed FY2027 Budget

Walker County residents will have multiple opportunities to review and comment on the county’s proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget in the coming weeks.

The proposed FY2027 budget for the Governing Authority of Walker County will be submitted during a special called meeting of the Walker County Board of Commissioners on Friday, June 26, at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at Walker County Courthouse Annex I, located at 101 South Duke Street in LaFayette.

Following its submission, the proposed budget will be available for public review at the Walker County Administration Building, also located at 101 South Duke Street in LaFayette. Residents will also be able to view the document online through the county’s website in the Government section.

County officials have scheduled two public hearings to gather input from residents before the budget is finalized. The first hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, and the second hearing will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6. Both hearings will be conducted at Walker County Courthouse Annex IV, located at 201 South Duke Street in LaFayette.

The public hearings will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the county’s spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year and offer comments before the budget is adopted.
