The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is once again challenging the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office in a friendly competition aimed at saving lives through blood donation.
The annual “Battle of the Badges” blood drive will take place Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office in LaFayette. Organizers say walk-up donors are welcome throughout the day.
The event encourages community members to donate blood while supporting their local law enforcement agency in a friendly rivalry with neighboring Catoosa County. Walker County residents have consistently shown strong support for the drive in previous years, helping the sheriff’s office post impressive donation totals.
This year, the Walker County Sheriff’s Office has set a goal of 85 donors and is encouraging residents, businesses, and organizations throughout the area to participate.
Officials say every donation can help patients in need and make a significant impact on local and regional blood supplies. Community members who are eligible to donate are encouraged to stop by and take part in the effort.
The blood drive is open to the public.
