The 2026 Battle of the Badges blood drive is happening today, and community members still have time to roll up their sleeves and help save lives.
Blood Assurance donation mobiles are set up in front of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office and will remain on site until 4 p.m. Thursday as part of the annual Battle of the Badges competition.
The event features a friendly rivalry between the Walker County Sheriff’s Office and the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, with each agency encouraging supporters to donate blood in an effort to claim bragging rights while making a lifesaving impact.
Every blood donation can help patients in need of emergency care, surgeries, cancer treatments, and other lifesaving medical procedures. Officials encourage anyone who is eligible to stop by before 4 p.m. and help strengthen the region’s blood supply. Walk-up donors are welcome, so no appointment is necessary for those who would like to participate.
The Blood Assurance donation mobiles will remain outside the Walker County Sheriff’s Office until 4 p.m. today, giving residents one more opportunity to support this year’s Battle of the Badges and make a difference for patients across the region.
